Only very rarely has whisky from what has long been the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland, Pulteney Distillery, been available from independent bottlers. So at least we are among the lucky ones who can fill at least one cask of it. The excellent single malt matured in a first fill bourbon barrel and inspires with a malty spiciness with distinctive grain notes.
Tasting
Nose: Vanilla, diplomat cream, coconut, malt, creamy, floral, sweet, fruity
Palate: Cereal, fruit mix, vanilla, biscuit, black tea, sweetish
Finish: Medium length, spicy with light oak backed
