Peatside
A true pearl is the now third edition of a Peatside malt, which is a peated Glenglassaugh. It is a real treat for every Islay fan, although this whisky comes from the mainland. It too started its maturation in a bourbon cask, where it lay for 5 long years and was then transferred to a new "First Fill Madeira" cask, where it then remained for the last 7 years. The nose shows a wonderful synergy of smoky bacon and Madeira. It is accompanied by nutty aromas and hints of seaweed or iodine. On the palate, a warm, powerful and harmonious smoky note spreads, which marries with the light acidity of Madeira to create a fantastic, full-bodied flavour. It is extremely balanced and has an infinitely long and delicate finish. Let this single malt surprise you!
